Health and Wellbeing Coaches help people feel better and stay healthy. They motivate and guide people to change their habits, like eating better, exercising more, and managing stress. They set personal goals and help people achieve them. This is especially helpful for those with long-term health problems like asthma, diabetes, or feeling sad. Coaches also help with weight loss, diet, and getting more active.

Yes, health and wellbeing coaching involves a high level of confidentiality (the same as a GP Practice). Coaches prioritise privacy and create a safe space for patients to discuss their health goals, challenges, and personal experiences. Coaches are responsible for safeguarding any records or notes from coaching sessions in compliance with relevant data protection laws.

The first session is predominately you and the coach getting to know each other. The coaches use a survey of 13 statements to help understand your current motivational levels. This helps the coach to get to know you better and to understand what matters to you most. Together, you’ll explore your lifestyle, values, health, goals, and any obstacles that may hinder your progress. You’ll set short term goals to start working towards what you want to achieve.

The number of sessions can vary, generally people take 6 sessions. The sessions can last up to 60 minutes with the frequency being decided between the coach and yourself. Everybody is individual the sessions are tailored to you and your needs. The sessions could be weekly, every 2 weeks or once a month.
